Position Description
Fort Hays Tech | 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä, Goodland, KS, , is seeking an instructor to teach in the Electrical Technology program at the College. As a member of the College faculty, an instructor is expected to participate in program, division, and college-wide activities. A successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of the mission of a rural technical college and have industry experience in supervising in a diverse environment. Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
Position Requirements
- Willingness to complete educational/testing requirements to obtain a Master Electrician Certification and City of Goodland licensure.
- Be willing to teach the full electrical credit hour load per semester, maintain an active campus presence and involvement, and in addition hold a minimum of 10 office hours per week.
- Be willing to teach a broad range of electrical courses such as electrical theory, safety, motor controls, AC/DC, National Electric Code, etc., and instruct students on actual “live-work” electrical projects on campus and within the community.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or be willing to obtain such degree through a progressive professional development plan; equivalent experience could be evaluated.

With nearly all of our technical programs taught in a cohort model, our students experience a significant amount of contact time with faculty, leading to high student success rates. We have a small, diverse campus, with a student body of approximately 400 full-time students pursuing degrees and technical certificates.
Compensation
Compensation includes: 12-month salary, 10-month teaching assignment, and benefits package including health insurance, KPERS retirement plan, sick leave, and more.
